Le Chameau Size Guide

Not sure which size to go for? We’re here to help!

When selecting which size to order, a good general rule with Le Chameau boots is to go for the same size as your normal, everyday shoe size. But if you’re still not sure, here is some extra guidance for selecting the perfect size…

Size & Fit

Le Chameau have been making exceptionally fitting boots for over 90 years. They are made to fit your standard shoe size with room for thick socks and to tuck in your trousers/jeans.  Each style of boot varies in calf sizes for both male and female sizes, so each boot has a different size guide.

Calf Measurement

Most of the Le Chameau boots are manufactured to a standard calf size that is relevant to the foot size. The Vierzon’s and Vierzonord boots have an adjustable gusset with tightening strap, therefore giving you more flexibility so they have a standard calf size. However if you are thinking of ordering the Chasseur, these can come in a range of calf sizes so you are best to measure your calf to work out what is best to fit you.

  • Sit on a chair (your foot and leg bare) with your foot flexed an flat on the floor. Bend your knee at a 90 degree angle.
  • Using a tape measure, find the widest point of your calf and measure around that point, whilst keeping your foot flat on the floor.
  • Add 2cm to this measurement. This will account for your trousers/jeans or thick socks and breathing space. That will be the calf size you require.

Boot Style and Calf Size

As stated previously, some styles have standard calf sizes for that particular range, and others may have options for calf size or gradually increasing calf sizes as the foot size gets bigger.

These tables give you a better idea of the measurements of specific styles of boots.
