This portrait bust is taken from Sir John Soane's Museum in London which was a copy of the original Shakespeare Monument at Peot's Corner, Westminster Abbey, London.
William Shakespeare (1564-1616) is considered by many to be the most important writer in the English language and the world's pre-sminent playwright. Most notable associated with Stratford-upon-Avon, this portrait bust is taken from the copy of Thomas Sheemakers' work in the permanent collection of Sir John Soane's Museum in London.
