Haddonstone - Soane Inigo Jones Bust

Famous for designing The Queen's House, Greenwich, Indigo Jones also designed the square of Loncoln's Inn Fields, where the Soane's Museum resides and where the alabaster bust of the original statue is housed.
It has been widely noted that much of the renaissance architecture that we see today takes its inspiration from classical origins, but it was Indigo jones (1573-1652) who first brough classical architecture as a concept to Britain and ultimately America. A student of the great Andrea alladio (1508-1580), Jones travelled to Italy before being appointed as Surveyor General of the king's Works in 1615.
