APPLICATION . Ideal for beds, borders under light trees or interplanted with roses. Good for cut flowers. POSITION . Sunny, however flowers will last longer in partial shade. Preferably a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years. SOIL REQUIREMENT . Tolerant of a wide range of soils provided drainage is satisfactory. CULTIVATION . Remove flowers when they begin to fade. Tulips may be left in the soil (even though flowering degenerates) but they can also be lifted after the foliage fades, cleaned, stored and replanted at the appropriate time again. However small off shoots will not flower and can be thrown away. A top-dressing of high potash (K) and phosphate (P) fertiliser from early in the spring is beneficial.
