APPLICATION . Plant informally in groups, in beds and borders, under deciduous shrubs and trees, in lawns and outdoor containers. Long lasting cut flower.
POSITION . Sun or partial shade.
SOIL REQUIREMENT . Well drained but humus-rich soil is ideal.
CULTIVATION . Can best be left undisturbed for some years. When the clumps become too crowded lift the bulbs after the foliage has withered. Separate the offsets and replant immediately.
INDOOR FORCING . Plant bulbs up to their necks in good quality potting compost in pots with drainage hole ensuring good drainage with crocks. Water and place crocks in a shady garden spot covered with 10cm of soil or keep pots in a cool cellar or garage. After 12-15 weeks move pots to cool greenhouse or into the home not above 17 degrees Centigrade.
