APPLICATION . Beds, borders, containers and in front of evergreens.
POSITION . Sunny, however flowers will last longer in partial shade.
SOIL REQUIREMENT . Tolerant of a wide range of soils provided drainage is satisfactory.
CULTIVATION . Hardy in most areas, but winter protection recommended in cold areas. Remove flowers when they fade and allow leaves and stalk to die down naturally and wither away. Bulbs may produce reasonably sized flowering spikes for a number of years. A top-dressing of high potash (K) and phosphate (P) fertiliser from early in the spring is beneficial.
