APPLICATION . Hardy in all areas, ideal for naturalizing in lawns, woodland, rockeries, borders, between paving stones and in tubs on terrace or balcony. They look particularly attractive in a winter corner close to the house in combination with Anemone blanda, Eranthis Chionodoxa (Glory of the snow), Iris reticulata and Iris danfordiae.
POSITION . Prefers partial shade but will grow in full sun.
SOIL REQUIREMENT . Moisture-retentive, prefers heavy soils like clay and humus-rich sandy soil.
CULTIVATION . Plant bulbs immediately after purchase. Top dressing of high potash (K) and phosphate (P) fertiliser each autumn improves flowering result. Patience may be necessary as the bulbs may not all bloom in the first year. Allow to establish.
