Leaf Beet or Sea Kale - Vegetable Seeds
Use green portion of leaves as for Spinach. The thick white midribs should be cut into sections, cooked for a few minutes in boiling, salted water, and served separately while still crisp. Crops continuously from July to late autumn. Does not produce edible roots.
For early crops choose a bolt-resistant variety and sow March-early April. For use in summer and autumn make successful sowings of suitable varieties from late April to July. Store roots in dry sand, soil or peat for winter use.
